Wales 1905 Retro Rugby Shirt
In 1905, the New Zealand All Blacks became the first of the Southern Hemisphere national teams to visit the British Isles on their rugby tour. The All Blacks were on a winning streak, having already defeated England, Scotland and Ireland, and they were to play Wales next at their home grounds, Cardiff Arms Park, where they had not been defeated since 1899. Before the match, the All Blacks performed their well-known starting ritual, the Haka, to which the Welsh crowd responded with the Welsh national anthem. This was the first time a national anthem had been sung before a sporting fixture. Wales won the match 3-0, being the only loss for the All Blacks on their 35-match tour.
